Surrogacy is the process in which a woman's uterus is utilized to carry a gestation to term. This procedure can be invoked in instances where the biological parent has a dysfunctional uterus, a history of surgical removal of the uterus, or a congenital abnormality for which a uterus was not present at birth.
Other instances where surrogacy is used are in cases of homosexual male couples who desire to have a child or single males who desire to conceive. There are various surrogacy agencies who facilitate the process of acquiring a surrogate. Here at Nevada Fertility C.A.R.E.S., we have had great success in coordinating and performing the in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer involved in creating a surrogate gestation. Contact our office if you would like to find out more about our Surrogacy Program.
